The Persian Alphabets - اَلـفباي فارسـي

Persian is written from right to left. The Persian alphabet consists of 32 letters that are represented differently depending on their position: Isolated, Initial, Medial, and Final.

The vowels can be short or long. The short ones are a, e, o and it is represented with a “vowel” sign above or below the consonant to which they vocalize ( zebar ـَـ/ a /, zir ــِـ /and/ , pish  ـُـ /or/).
 

The long vowels ā , i, u appear as a proper letter, following the consonant they accompany ( alef آ  / ā /, and ā ى / i /, w ā w و/ u / ).

In case a consonant is not marked or accompanied by a vowel, it will have a “pure” consonant sound and the º sign ( sokun ) will be placed on it.

VOWELS: 

Short: They appear as signs above or below the letters.

A (as in: Ba بَ ) , E (like in: Be بِ ), O (as in: Bo بُ ) 

Long: They are placed behind the letter they accompany: 

Ā ا (as in: Bā بـ ـا ) , U (as in: Bu بـ ـو ) , I (as in: Bi بـ ـي ) 

Ways to write: In Persian it is written from right to left. Each letter varies depending on its position in the word (at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end).
